Vincheto Biogenetic Reserve

The Vincheto di Celarda, in the municipality of Feltre, is a nature reserve of about a hundred hectares, mostly flat in nature, very rich in water and with an extraordinary diversity of both fauna and botany. Its importance at the international level is recognized by the Ramsar Convention, established in 1971 to enhance and protect wetlands of exceptional interest.

An ideal destination for anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the silence of the most authentic nature, full of paths that are easy to follow both on foot and by bike, the area is typically lacustrine with its marshes, resurgences, and ponds framed by sparse groves and rows of spruce, Scotch pine, ash, alder, and poplar trees. Numerous species of wild orchids grow here spontaneously-a true spectacle in the flowering season.

If deer, fallow deer, and chamois can be admired in the semi-wild state in large prearranged enclosures, it is not uncommon for visitors to come across roe deer, foxes, hares, and squirrels all in the wild. From an avifaunal point of view then, the area is a small paradise for bird enthusiasts: there are more than 50 species including migrants and permanent ones present, among which it will not be difficult to spot Mallards, Grey Herons, Moorhens.

A series of clear and comprehensive panels scattered all over the places of greatest interest provide guests with useful information to better appreciate their visit.
