A weekend in Feltre is the minimum time you need to discover the rich historical and artistic heritage of this city that has a troubled past and is often neglected by tourists attracted by better-known destinations. With our tour guides, you can start to discover the museums and the historical city founded by the Reti with the name of Feltria, had an important development in Roman times because of its proximity to the Via Claudia Augusta that from Altino, in the Venetian lagoon, arrived in Bavaria. Walking along the streets of Feltre up to the beautiful main square dominated by the Castle of Alboino, just raise your head to see the many Venetian palaces with frescoes, now a bit 'neglected, but that once had to be a wonder of colours that earned Feltre the nickname of the painted city.
The next day we will discover the whole valley of Feltre. After having visited Feltre's historical centre we will proceed towards Vignui to discover the Pian delle Vette winery, we will then continue towards Pedavena and we will reach Festisei to visit Caneva di Altor for the second tasting. Back in the centre of Pedavena you take a cycleway not very frequented by cars - "il canalet" - that leads to Arten where through an easy dirt road - the famous Via Claudia Augusta - you reach Fonzaso, at the church of San Micel. Following the bike path, you arrive in Caupo where a country road leads to Rasai and immediately after to Feltre to visit the farm Terre di Gaia. Then we go up to Tomo from where it is possible to admire the whole city of Feltre in which stands out the castle of Alboino. Here it is possible to visit De Bacco winery and Villa Guarnieri. A descent on the asphalted road leads to Anzù, under-mount Miesna in front of the basilica of Saints Vittore and Corona, patrons of Feltre, while the last climb to San Paolo brings back to the starting point.
