Although the original core dates back to Roman times, Zumelle Castle, which stands on a hill overlooking the Terche stream, is typically medieval construction and is the best preserved in the Valbelluna. It attained its present layout-which consists of a small inner courtyard, a 36-meter-high tower and a mighty wall-around 1300 by Rizzardo da Camino, lord of Treviso, Belluno and Feltre.
A theme park allows visitors to immerse themselves, especially at the many events held at the castle, in the chaotic life of the time: with its workshops, wayfarers, archers, and jesters. And its flavors.
Inside the tower, in fact, a real tavern offers menus strictly based on original recipes from the early Middle Ages: ancient flavors cooked, today as then, with raw materials of absolute excellence.
