{"id":2544,"date":"2025-03-28T09:06:30","date_gmt":"2025-03-28T09:06:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/feltrebiketour.it\/feltre-e-dintorni\/feltre-archaeological-area\/"},"modified":"2025-06-10T08:20:53","modified_gmt":"2025-06-10T08:20:53","slug":"feltre-archaeological-area","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/feltrebiketour.it\/en\/feltre\/feltre-archaeological-area\/","title":{"rendered":"Feltre archaeological area"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Beneath the cathedral parvis, <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Feltre\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Feltre<\/a> jealously guards its origins: an <a href=\"https:\/\/feltrebiketour.it\/it\/prenota-bike-tour\/per-famiglie\/162-ciclovia-i-dintorni-di-feltre-fbt015\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">extraordinary journey through time that takes us from Roman times<\/a> to the late Middle Ages.<\/p>\n<p>Ancient <a href=\"https:\/\/it.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Via_Claudia_Augusta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Feltria<\/a>, an important municipium of Roman times, could boast a prosperous economic life, evidenced here by the remains of some stores that overlooked an excellently preserved paved street. Very impressive is what remains of a large building with marble and mosaic floors that was perhaps the seat of a schola of the time. <\/p>\n<p>Just beyond, we find the foundations of a circular baptistery dating from around 1100 AD, medieval evidence of the city&#8217;s religious life.<\/p>\n<p>The archaeological area, which covers about 1,000 square meters, is managed by the association <a href=\"https:\/\/fondacofeltre.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cIl Fondaco per Feltre,\u201d<\/a> in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Riaperta l&#039;area archeologica di Feltre\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jfbC9MRvUe4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Beneath the cathedral parvis, Feltre jealously guards its origins: an extraordinary journey through time that takes us from Roman times to the late Middle Ages.
